Town Hall 100 Year Anniversary

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Strathfield’s Town Hall, Council will be hosting a number of events in early October to commemorate the milestone.

The celebrations include an official opening dinner, a morning tea with a historical talk and a  historical exhibition. The Town Hall History Exhibition will be open to the community from 10 to 14 October and will also be exhibited at the Ironbark Gallery at a later date. This exhibition was organised in collaboration with the Strathfield-History District Historical Society.

2023 EVENT INFORMATION

Council, in collaboration with the Strathfield-Homebush District History Society, will exhibit and host a historical morning tea on Wednesday 11 October 2023.

For over 100 years, the Strathfield Town Hall has brought together the members of the local community, whether debating issues of the day, attending joyous social events, participating in civic defence and emergency services, celebrating arts and performance or commemorating wartime service and remembering the passing of loved ones.

Join us for a historical talk with Jenny MacRitchie and Cathy Jones as they highlight stories of the Town Hall’s rich history.

When: Wednesday 11 October 2023, 10am to 12pm

Where: Strathfield Town Hall – 65 Homebush Road, Strathfield

Council, in collaboration with the Strathfield-Homebush District History Society, has organised an exhibition on the history of the Strathfield Town Hall

The Strathfield Town Hall has hosted a vast array of activities over the last 100 years, with some featured in this exhibition. The Town Hall and Strathfield Council looks forward to many future years serving the community of Strathfield.

This exhibition is open to the community at the Town Hall from Tuesday 10 October to Friday 13 October from 9am – 5pm, and Saturday 14 October from 10am to 2pm.

The Strathfield Town Hall 100 Year Anniversary exhibition will also be displayed at the Ironbark Gallery at a later date.

Strathfield Council will be hosting an official opening dinner on Monday 9 October to celebrate the 100 Year Anniversary of Strathfield Town Hall.

The event promises a special evening including live music performance by the Strathfield Symphony Orchestra, an enlightening historical discussion,  and an engaging panel discussion.

Tickets for this event will be $75 per person with all proceeds being donated to Suicide Prevention Australia.
