Council is excited to announce a new event, Homebush Vibes to bring Rochester Street to life on Saturday 16 September.
Homebush Village will be centre stage as people from across the Strathfield LGA and Inner West gather to experience the tastes, sights and sounds of Homebush. The event will feature live music, dancing performances, roving entertainment, activities and a variety of cuisines offered by local businesses.

2023 EVENT INFORMATION
Cultural performances to celebrate the Moon Festival will kick off the Stage Program for Homebush Vibes
Homebush Vibes will also feature performances from local community groups during the day and will transform into a party with live music to get everyone up and dancing once the sun sets!

Fancy yourself a chess master? Giant games will also be scattered around site for everyone to play!
If you’re still on a FIFA Women’s World Cup high, there will also be a blow up soccer billiard field on site to kick around with friends.
An abstract painting workshop will also take place on the day from 7.30pm – 9.00pm. Bookings will be taken on the day at 7.00pm on a first in first served basis. Please note spaces for this activity are limited.
Looking for activities to keep the little ones entertained while you’re in the Village?
Face painters will be on site from 3pm – 7pm to transform the look of little ones – and those young at heart!
Our friendly Library team will be on site with art and craft activities from 3pm – 6pm. Head over to the Council branded tent to make lanterns to celebrate the Moon Festival.
Visit a nearby local business while you’re in the heart of Homebush! Grab some chicken from Anars, cake from Urbano or a coffee from Bar Cortona and support local businesses.
$10 vouchers will be handed out to attendees to use at participating businesses on the day. Please note there will be a limited amount of vouchers available.

Sip on a glass of bubbly while enjoying live music at Homebush Vibes! A licenced bar area will be set up on Rochester Street from 3pm – 9pm with a number of sparkling wines on offer. Bubble Bambino’s sparkling wine is sourced from the famous wine growing regions of Veneto, in north eastern Italy.

Getting to Homebush Vibes
Rochester Street is located immediately outside Homebush train station (southern side).
The event will take place on Rochester Street between The Crescent and Burlington Road.
Road closures are required to create a safe and bustling event space to activate Homebush Village. This will take place along part of Rochester Street, Homebush (from The Crescent to Burlington Street) from 7am Saturday 16 September until 1am Sunday 17 September 2023. Residents will be able to access their homes at these times.
Detours will be in place via Burlington Road, Meredith Street, Homebush Road, and The Crescent whilst the road closure is in place.

Parking will be limited, so leave the car at home and take one of these routes!
Cycling – It’s just a short detour off the Cooks River Bay to Bay track.
Train and Bus – The event is conveniently located right next to Homebush Train Station! Visit the Transport NSW web page to plan your trip.
Rochester Street is accessible from many directions, including along the roads – The Crescent, Burlington Road and Rochester Street. Access by foot is also available through Homebush train station from Loftus Crescent.
Pathways
Rochester Street is fully cemented and paved, with kerb lips and raised pedestrian crossings. It is suitable for prams, wheelchairs and other devices to assist with movement.
Accessible Parking
Disabled parking spaces are available along Burlington Road, near the roundabout with Rochester Street.
Accessible Bathrooms
Accessible bathrooms are located in many of the cafes. For the event, portable accessible bathrooms will be available on site.
Changing Facilities
Changing facilities are located in many of the cafes. For the event, portable changing facilities will be available on site.
Food and Drinks
There are several stores located on Rochester Street where food and drinks can be purchased.
Council staff are on hand during events to assist visitors.
