Celebrate Australia Day in Strathfield
Strathfield Council will celebrate Australia Day on Friday 26 January at Strathfield Square, the heart of Strathfield.
This community event will celebrate our nation, its achievements and most of all, its people. It will include a smoking ceremony and didgeridoo performance, free children’s activities, and a special movie screening of Blueback.
Food and drinks will be available to purchase from the many local shops, restaurants and cafes located throughout the Square.
Bring the family along to celebrate Australia and being Australian in Strathfield.
Schedule
4pm – 7.30pm: Free face painting, glitter tattoos, reptile display and a lamington making workshop.
7.30pm: Movie screening of Blueback
This event is assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.

Getting to Australia Day in Strathfield
Australia Day in Strathfield 2023 will be held at Strathfield Square.
Public Transport
Strathfield Square is conveniently located right next to Strathfield Train Station and includes a bus interchange.

Cycling
Ditch the car and ride your bicycle to the event!
A parking rack is available along side the train station.
Strathfield Square is a detour off the Bay to Bay Cycleway.
Strathfield Square is accessible from many directions, including along the roads – Albert Road, Strathfield Square and The Boulevard. Access by foot is also available through the train station from Everton Road.
Pathways
Strathfield Square is fully cemented and paved, with kerb lips and raised pedestrian crossings. It is suitable for prams, wheelchairs and other devices to assist with movement.
Accessible Parking
Disabled parking spaces are available in the carpark on Albert Road, or in Strathfield Plaza’s carpark.
