Celebrate Australia Day in Strathfield
Strathfield Council will celebrate Australia Day on Thursday 26 January at Strathfield Square, the heart of Strathfield.
This community event will celebrate our nation, its achievements and most of all, its people. It will include a smoking ceremony and didgeridoo performance, free children’s activities, and a special movie screening of Happy Feet.
Food and drinks will be available to purchase from the many local shops, restaurants and cafes located throughout the Square.
Bring the family along to celebrate Australia and being Australian in Strathfield.
4pm – 7.30pm: free face painting, reptile display and craft activity. There will also be a lamington making workshop from 5pm – 7pm.
7.30pm: Movie screening of Happy Feet
This event is assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.

Getting to Australia Day in Strathfield
Australia Day in Strathfield 2023 will be held at Strathfield Square.
Strathfield Square is conveniently located right next to Strathfield Train Station and includes a bus interchange.

Ditch the car and ride your bicycle to the event!
A parking rack is available along side the train station.
Strathfield Square is a detour off the Bay to Bay Cycleway.
Strathfield Square is accessible from many directions, including along the roads – Albert Road, Strathfield Square and The Boulevard. Access by foot is also available through the train station from Everton Road.
Strathfield Square is fully cemented and paved, with kerb lips and raised pedestrian crossings. It is suitable for prams, wheelchairs and other devices to assist with movement.
Disabled parking spaces are available in the carpark on Albert Road, or in Strathfield Plaza’s carpark.
Accessible bathrooms are located in Strathfield Plaza.
Changing facilities are located in Strathfield Plaza.

There are several stores located in the Square where food and drinks can be purchased.
Council staff are on hand during events to assist visitors.
